Day 57 of my full-time mission
Area: Layton, Utah (Layton Stake)

I got up at 6:30 a.m. today and got ready, ate, and have been reading the Book of Mormon and studying. I just went through all 20 scriptures I have to memorize for my bachelor’s designation. They’re done. I’ve only got a few more things to do now.

Well, I’m at my new apartment now! It’s a pretty nice place, just as good as the other one, except for the kitchen.

We got here about 4:30 pm. I’m glad to be in a city. We only cover one stake. My companion seems great: Elder Barnson. He went to the Y for a year and a half. I think he’s on top of things. I’m excited. My Heavenly Father is so great! He’s always watching out for me.

I’m really super happy to be here now. I want to learn this area and get going.

I didn’t really get to memorize a scripture today, but I like and know the one below (my scripture of the day).

We had a dinner appointment tonight, and I hear that we do every night. The apartment is in the basement of a really nice older lady. We did a presentation tonight too, and I met a few people. I’m tired.

My Scripture: D&C 42:22-25 — “Thou shalt love thy wife with all thy heart, and shalt cleave unto her and none else.”
