Missionary Journal – July 31, 1989

my missionary journal

Day 62 of my full-time mission
Area: Layton, Utah (Layton Stake)

It was nice to have a day off. We (or I did, mostly) cleaned until noon. The whole apartment was dusty, with mold in the shower; all the dishes were dirty, etc. Anyway, I got the place cleaned up nice and good.

We went to the mall, and I bought a Sony tape player, a bike rack pack, and a kickstand. It looks like I’m ready to go cross-country now.

We had a dinner appointment tonight, then went to a member’s home, and asked her to take us grocery shopping (for Elder Barnson).

I don’t get my check until Monday, the 7th.

Looking back at yesterday’s journal entry, I feel sad because I’m not perfect. What a revelation! It saddens me that the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Then again, that saddened the prophet Nephi. So, I guess it can sadden me.
