On the last day of 2007

It’s hard to believe 2007 is over. Happy New Year everyone!

Today, on the last day of 2007, we enjoyed time with the family.

I worked on our master bathroom to finish up a painting project by year’s end. I still have three doors to paint, but other than that, the project we started three or four years ago is about done.

We all enjoyed lunch at In-N-Out Burger, including Dominic. This was the first time he has been out of the house to go out to eat with us at a restaurant since breaking his leg on Nov. 28. He seemed to really enjoy the outing.

We baked and enjoyed Melissa’s enchiladas for dinner, played card games and worked on puzzles. I also took Tank for a run and the three older kids on a wagon ride while I rollerbladed — that was an adventure.

Vickey’s sister, Rachel, and her boyfriend Kevin paid us a visit and are in town for a couple days using a gift certificate we won at the Courtyard Marriott for New Year’s. I paid $20 for some raffle tickets at the BYU vs. UNLV football game tailgate party and we won three days and two nights at the Courtyard Marriott. I guess I’ll have to stop saying I never win anything.

We’ll get to spend more time with Rachel and Kevin tomorrow. They’re enjoying New Year’s Eve in Vegas now. We just watched it on TV with the Coglianese family.

This year was the first year Eliana has been able to stay up until midnight. She’s sound asleep now though, just minutes after the Las Vegas Strip fireworks ended. Carter also lasted (and so did Tank), but Luke and the two other boys were out before midnight.

Here’s to a fabulous 2008!
