On Saturday we went out to breakfast with Vickey’s parents to celebrate Gordon’s birthday. It’s the first time we’ve been able to do that — a fun perk of living in Utah.

We enjoyed our breakfast even though the Original Pancake House on 21st South in Salt Lake City was so loud and busy that it took us a while to get in and out of there. Still, the food was good and we got to spend time with the birthday boy.

Eliana even sang him the happy birthday song. And he got a bag of black licorice and lots of photos of our family for his wall of fame in his home office.
