Tonight we made some traditional Italian Christmas cookies.
Each year we bake cookies — recipes passed down from my dad’s parents — sometime around mid-December, or at least before Christmas day, and sometimes more than once!
We usually give friends and neighbors small plates with samples of our family Christmas baking tradition.
We missed baking with my cousins, Michael and Gina in Las Vegas, but we carried on even though we weren’t baking together (we’re sure they did some baking of their own).
Russian chocolate cookies.
Knots (biscuits; just shaped differently) – ready to go into the oven.
