Day 46 of my full-time mission
Area: Afton, Wyoming
I had a good day. I prayed this morning for a good 30 minutes, no joking, and I really thought I might receive an answer, but I don’t feel like I did. I was being so sincere I was shaking. I feel like I’m getting closer. My Heavenly Father loves me, and when I have my act together, have enough faith, and am sincere, I’ll get an answer (Moroni 10:5).
I finished reading the Book of Mormon today! I finished in 40 days! Not bad, huh?
We visited quite a lot of people today: the Sutters, Bowins, and a few nonmembers. We went to Sabrina and Lanny’s home to invite them to church tomorrow. I just felt prompted to go speak with them tonight, so we did. And you know what, Lanny said, looking at me intently from across the room, “You know, it sure is good to have you guys encourage us. It’s nice to know that you guys really care.” That was exciting. I told him, “Yes, we do care, very much, and we’d really like to see you at church tomorrow.” He replied, “I don’t see any problems with that.” It just makes me feel so good to know that we may be helping them out — to know that she may very well be baptized soon and he may be re-activated. I’ll pray for them.
Tonight we went to a wedding reception, just for fun, and because Chuck Sutter invited us. He made the cake and did a great job. His wife is a tremendous cook. She had us over for lunch, and it was like Thanksgiving.
Well, I’ve got some records to fill out for the week, and I want to get to bed as soon as I can. I’ve had the gumption or ambition to get out of bed at 6:30 a.m. these past few days, and I’m so proud of myself.
My Scripture: 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 — Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first…
