Day 47 of my full-time mission
Area: Afton, Wyoming
I really enjoyed sacrament meeting today. We attended two of them. One at 9 a.m. and one at 11 a.m. with Sabrina and Lanny. We also presented “Together Forever” to them tonight and talked for two hours. I feel really good about that. She may just quit smoking and be baptized. One day they may go through the temple. It would be Lanny’s second time. His last temple marriage ended in a divorce, and his wife was excommunicated, and he became inactive. But things are looking good.
We had lunch at the Hess’s and dinner at the Hall’s. We were going to show a video at the Hall’s, but ran out of time. We just got home, and it’s 10:10 p.m. Gadlin didn’t want to be home on time. You know, I find it frustrating to work with people who try to push rules as far as they can. Why can’t they just be obedient?
I learned something neat today. In Doctrine and Covenants 121:40, “Hence many are called, but few are chosen.” Who does the choosing? The Lord? No. We do. We choose to be obedient or to be a good bishop, or home teacher, or missionary. We have free agency. Of course, it’s up to us to choose. I had never thought of that scripture that way before.
My Scripture: Hebrews 11:6 — But without faith it is impossible to please him…
