Letter from my MTC teacher, Sis. Lori Bradley

Dear Elder Codella,

Thank you so much for being you. I have really appreciated all you have done in class and all you have done for me. Elder Codella, you have always come to class with a desire to learn. I know the MTC has had some challenges you were not expecting to have. I have watched you grow and I am grateful you are willing to change and learn. Keep up the good work. You are wonderful.

I know the Church is true. I know Jesus Christ is our Savior. He lives and He loves each one of us. Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. He restored the truths to the earth. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. I cannot say enough about it. I have grown a greater understanding of my Savior, myself and others through the Book of Mormon. Study and ponder and APPLY the teachings of the Book of Mormon.

I know Heavenly Father will take care of and protect you. You are doing His work.

Elder Codella, keep going the same direction you are going now. You have started in the right place. You have a marvelous work ahead of you. Always remember I love you and will pray for you.

Love, Sister Bradley

Letter from my MTC teacher, Elder Rob Cuff

Elder Codella,

I want you to know how much I have enjoyed being your teacher. I will pray for your success in all that you do. Work hard and become a great missionary. The Lord will look after you in all your experiences.

Follow this guidance and teach by the spirit. Always make the best of what’s given to you. Only you can make yourself successful. Continue to work hard on the things you have learned in the MTC.

You have the tools to become great. You now need to know when to apply them. Stay close to the gospel by being obedient. Know that your Heavenly Father loves and cares about you. I love you a lot!

Love ya, Elder Cuff

Day 18 of my full-time mission
Area: Afton, Wyoming

As you can tell, I had two of my three teachers write to me in my journal. Man, I love keeping journals!

I’m so excited right now! I can’t wait to go out into the field! I really am excited!

We took a walk tonight with Renton, our other district in our zone, up to the temple. We all took a few pictures. This place is so great. This work is so great! I know I’m doing the right thing. I’ve made some great friends here. I’m going to miss them.

I had a relaxing day. It was hard to get up and going because I was tired. But it was missionary day and Elder Pitcher and I got to sit outside and enjoy things while we talked about the gospel. It was great. It’s really pretty here right now. I’m sending Mom a package with a copy of a picture of Brian and me (and I made that into a card for him) and a letter. I sure love them!

Well, we’re losing two elders out of here on Monday. Humphries and Shelton. They’re going to Dallas, Texas. I love TEXAS! I’ll make sure to keep in touch with them.

You know, life is wonderful!
